"Well, we A/B the BrownBox against a Variac, there is a big difference in the sound, so many think it’s just a Variac, it’s not, a must for anybody using vintage Marshall’s or Fenders, etc."So many boutique amps, everybody's looking for the Holy Grail when it comes to amps. But, if you've been around long enough we all remember the killer sounds we heard in the day from our Fender and Marshall amps we treasure so much. Something changed, why are we chasing a sound we already had. Enter the Brown Box, when I was starting to play I had a mid sixties Fender Bandmaster and a 100w plexi, they sounded great, what happened, what changed. It's the voltage coming from our wall sockets. When I was starting out we were getting around 110-115 volts all day long. Well, where I live it's changed dramatically. I constantly get 122-123 volts at my house, and it's pretty much the same wherever I play. Even modern Fenders are designed to run 117, there's a very good reason for that, that is how the engineers have designed these amps to run. If your using old Fenders or Marshall's, they really like to run around 110-115, and a Variac may help you out a bit, but the Brown Box was made to do this job much better than any voltage regulator. Listen to an old 50w plexi plugged into a Brown Box and you will not believe your ears. These amps are built to run at very specific voltages to run properly and sound the best they can. And it works, the amp runs cooler, which the tubes love, less breakdowns and blown fuses. If your like me and love your vintage, gear you must get your hands on a BrownBox, you'll thank me in the morning! |

"There's nothing like the feeling of hitting a note, squeezing it with a little finger vibrato and experiencing that bloom that happens on your old tube amp when it's running smoothly. The BrownBox has taken all of the guess work out of the equation when it comes to using a voltage regulator. What a difference it has made. My amps have never felt or sounded better." |

"There are some very musical amp circuits from our past. It's a shame that some folks can't access all of the magic because of voltage irregularities. The Brown Box has completely remedied that." |

"I have been using the AmpRX BrownBox in both studio and concert settings with my mid 60s Vox AC 30. I can feel and hear the sweetness the amp was designed to deliver. It's a great tool that will bring out the best of your old vintage amps. Glad I was able to get a hold of one of these!" |

"I can't believe it took me this long to wise up to the BrownBox. If your electric tone is your backyard, then acquiring a BrownBox is like getting a trampoline - every note bounces right back at your fingertips. Maximum vintage squishiness, plus you get that peaceful feeling of knowing your amp is getting the kind of power it craves. I will be taking my BrownBox with me everywhere I go." |
